Uncle Terry Needs You - UNG RECRUITING

Writer's picture: Richard SchuetzeRichard Schuetze

NGCCA Members,

Over the years, NGCCA has provided multiple forms of assistance to our beloved North Georgia Corps of Cadets which include FROG Week, Boar’s Head Weekend, Alumni Weekend and Commissioning.  The Association has facilitated these events by forming Committees, such as the FROG Week Support Committee, to assist the Commandant with the planning, preparation and execution of the events mentioned above.  We are now expanding our support into the Cadet Recruiting process to facilitate meeting the Presidents directive to “Deliver the Corps of the Future” with a size of 1,000 Cadets.

Our concept is to utilize NGCCA Members, who are willing to partner with the Cadet Recruiting Office, to help “tell our story”, in your local area high schools in Georgia or the state you reside in.  The plan will initially use three methods:

1.       Partner in state NGCCA members with Cadet Recruiting personnel assigned to your county and conduct a co-visit to the local high schools.  This will allow you to provide your insight of what the Corps has done in your life.  You would also become a local point of contact which perspective Cadets, their parents, school counselors and faculty can seek additional information or assistance in the decision-making process to attend UNG.

2.       Conduct “stand alone” events with your local high schools.  Coordinate with local high school counselors for possible dates the school will host College and Career Days.   Additionally, coordinate with local JROTC (all services) to visit their classes and discuss the Corps of Cadets and UNG.

3.       Similar to option 2, enlist out of state NGCCA members to visit local high schools in their local are to reach perspective Cadets and actively recruit them to attend UNG.  The Cadet Recruiting Office will be able to provide you contact cards and some recruiting material to assist in this process.

Utilizing these concepts, the intent is to provide NGCCA Recruiting Committee members with “cheat sheets” containing critical information for you to present in any environment.  Examples of these “cheat sheets” include tuition and fees for in state and out of state Cadets, ROTC scholarship application process, additional scholarship information, school visits, specialty units and other aspects of recruiting as we develop this concept.  We are challenging the NGCCA to “Open the Gate” seeking members to volunteers to become a member of this committee and actively recruit future Cadets.  If you are interested in joining this venture, please send me the following information to moorcs325@gmail.com .   We will take your information and pair you with the Cadet Recruiting representative with responsibility of your location:

              Name and Class

Current Address, phone number and county where you reside

Thank you for your time and consideration with this endeavor.   Please feel free to send me any insight you may have that we can apply.   We can help increase the 2025 FROG Week Class above 350 Cadet Recruits.

Thank you,

Chris
